Neil is a cinematographer with 20 years' experience. Features he has shot include The Little Mermaid with Academy Award winner Shirley MacLaine, supernatural thriller Heretiks with Michael Ironside, and the multi-award-winning road movie Above the Clouds. He has photographed another half–dozen independent feature films and innumerable shorts, and was nominated for six Best Cinematography awards for his work on the action/adventure series Ren: The Girl with the Mark. Second only to his love of cinematography is his passion for sharing his knowledge of it. As well as RedShark News and his own blog, Neil writes for British Cinematographer Magazine, has a successful “Cinematic Lighting” course on Udemy, and posts lighting breakdowns every Friday on his highly popular Instagram feed.
