DJI's dual-lens rechristened Osmo Pocket 4P is confirmed and heading for a probable June launch. Here's everything we know about specs, pricing, and availability.
The standard DJI Osmo Pocket 4 landed yesterday, April 16, but for a significant portion of the audience that had been following the pre-launch rumor cycle, the more interesting camera is yet to come. The Osmo Pocket 4 Pro, or as DJI has taken to calling it on Chinese social media, the Osmo Pocket 4P, is very much a real device, and it's shaping up to be interestingly different to its sibling.
Here's what we know so far.
DJI has confirmed it exists
DJI has now officially teased the Pocket 4P on Weibo. This confirms a crucial difference from the standard model: it will launch with a dedicated 3x zoom lens. The company describes it as set to make a "grand debut" with "exceptional vision," which is characteristically vague, but the confirmation itself is significant. This is no longer a rumor.
Dual-lens, optical zoom
The Pro is rumored to feature a dual-lens setup and Hasselblad color science. Given the standard Pocket 4's 4x digital zoom ceiling, the expectation is that the Pro's secondary lens delivers 3x optical zoom, with digital zoom extending beyond that. Some sources have suggested the secondary lens could be a telephoto rather than an ultrawide.
Earlier rumors pointed to dual 1/1.1-inch sensors covering wide and telephoto configurations, with 2x–4x optical zoom range. The more recent DJI confirmation of a 3x optical lens suggests the lower end of that range is probably closer to reality.
June 2026 release window
The dual-camera Pocket 4 Pro now has a rumored release month of June 2026, following the standard Pocket 4's debut. The deliberate spacing is strategic: the Pro was reportedly delayed to avoid cannibalizing sales of the standard model, which itself was delayed from December 2025. Whether June holds is another matter. The standard Pocket 4 itself slipped repeatedly before landing this week. And it has even been suggested that DJI will bring its release forward to spoil Issta360's Luna Ultra (see below).
Rumored pricing
Based on reported Chinese retail pricing of 4999 RMB, the Pro is expected to come in at approximately $733 at current exchange rates. That puts it significantly above the $499 standard model, but below the price of most dedicated cinema-adjacent compacts.
The FCC issue
Of course, giving dollar prices is likely to be a hiding to nothing. DJI was added to the FCC's Covered List in December 2025, which means no new DJI devices can receive US certification after that date. The standard Pocket 4 filed before that cutoff; the Pro did not. The practical implication is that the Pro is expected to target European and Asian markets, with US buyers potentially limited to grey-market import options that void warranty coverage.
The competition: Insta360 Luna Ultra
The Pocket 4 Pro doesn't exist in a vacuum. The Insta360 Luna Ultra also features two cameras and is receiving its first official preview at NAB 2026 this week. Leaks suggest the Luna Ultra offers up to 6x zoom and a detachable gimbal design, while confirmed features include a dual wide-angle and telephoto lens system with 3x optical zoom, FlowState gimbal stabilization with AI enhancements, and a rotating touchscreen.
Insta360 has not yet released pricing and there is also some confusion about what NAB attendees will see. We have heard both that people will be able to get hands-on with the unit and that it will only be shown behind frosted glass. We’ll find out more on Sunday.
The Luna Ultra is being positioned as Insta360's first serious entry into the pocket gimbal space. This is territory DJI has owned essentially uncontested since 2018. That means the Pro/Luna Ultra face-off, whenever both are actually available, is going to be the more interesting comparison than Pocket 4 vs. Luna Ultra.
What we still don't know
Sensor size for the secondary lens hasn't been confirmed by DJI. The Hasselblad color science angle remains rumor-grade. There's no confirmed battery capacity for the Pro wither, though it's expected to be larger than the standard model's 1545 mAh cell. And "June 2026" could easily become July or August. Or May...
We'll update this as the picture comes more into focus. Given the pace of leaks so far, that probably won't be too long.
