Xtra Muse 2 Pro: launch paused, refunds issued
4:07

Xtra has officially paused the release of the Muse 2 Pro, its DJI Osmo Pocket 4P clone for the US market, and is offering pre-order customers a full refund on their deposit.

The Federal Communications Commission's latest swing at DJI "front companies" seems to have hit its first very high-profile target, with release of the Xtra Muse 2 Pro now 'paused' just as the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P prepares for global release

FCC action

As we reported earlier this month, on 10 July, the FCC issued $25,000 fines to eight companies it says ignored formal requests for information about the importation and sale of wireless products linked to DJI hardware. These were Cogito Tech, Fixaxo Technology, Lyno Dynamics, Skyhigh Tech, Spatial Hover, SZ Knowact, WaveGo Tech, and Xtra Technology.

Then, Xtra was still accepting pre-orders for the Xtra Muse 2 Pro, which is effectively the DJI Pocket 4P in everything but name, and aiming it at a Q3 2026 launch for somewhere between $600 - $700.

The pre-order page has, however, now been updated with a statement.

Early Bird Reservations Are Paused

After reviewing our product and launch readiness, XTRA has decided to pause the current Early Bird program. Because we are unable to confirm a reliable launch timeline at this stage, we do not believe customers' funds should remain on hold.

We will therefore issue a full refund of the amount paid for every eligible, unrefunded Early Bird order to the original payment method. No action is required from customers. Once processed, refunds may take approximately 5–10 business days to appear, depending on the payment provider or financial institution.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the pause of the Early Bird program. As a token of our appreciation for your understanding and early support, each eligible customer will also receive a single-use 10% courtesy discount code. The code will be valid for 30 days from issuance and may be used toward eligible products currently available on the official XTRA Store. The 10% courtesy discount code will be issued within 1–2 business days after the eligible Early Bird order has been cancelled. Customers will receive the code in a separate email.

Following the refund, the original $60 launch coupon and Priority Express Shipping benefit associated with the Early Bird program will no longer be issued.

We have not announced a new product launch timeline at this time. Further information will be shared separately once the relevant plans are confirmed.

Thank you for your early support and understanding.

It's worth pointing out that the company is pausing the Muse 2 Pro launch rather than canning it altogether, though there is no guarantee that it will restart anytime soon and we would say chances are hazy at best. The Muse 2, the Osmo Pocket 4 clone, has been canceled as well. As it stands, this route to DJI-style gimbal cameras currently peaks with the Xtra Muse, which is effectively a rebadged Osmo Pocket 3 and currently available for less than half its list price at $329.
