The new NIKKOR Z 24–105mm f/4–7.1 covers a flexible wide-to-mid-telephoto range and is designed as an everyday option for travel, stills, and video use.
The new NIKKOR Z 24–105mm f/4–7.1 covers a lot of bases and looks like it has been designed to appeal to casual users looking for an all-in-one option, as well as provide a new entry-level zoom option for Z-mount camera owners. Weighing 350 g (0.77 lb), it definitely offers a portable alternative to heavier general-purpose zooms.
Versatile Use
The NIKKOR Z 24–105mm f/4–7.1's 24–105mm range provides scope for a wide variety of landscape, interior, portrait, detail, and video work. Autofocus is driven by a high-speed stepping motor designed for smooth, quiet operation when shooting video. The lens also has impressive maco performance, and supports close-up shooting with a 0.5x reproduction ratio, and a short minimum focusing distances of 0.2 m (7.9 in) at 24mm and 0.28 m (11 in) at 105mm.
It features 12 elements in 10 groups, and has 7 aperture blades. Aperture range varies from f/4 to f/22 at 24mm to f/7.1 to f/40 at 105mm. A customizable control ring allows users to assign, aperture, exposure compensation, or ISO sensitivity to its control.

Nikon positions the lens as a compact walk-around option, particularly when paired with smaller Z-mount full-frame bodies such as the Z5 II. Together, that combination weighs approximately 1050 g (2.31 lb). The lens also features dust- and drip-resistant sealing.
