Chemical Wedding has built its Helios Live-View sun-position tool into Artemis Director's Viewfinder, combining previsualization and lighting planning in one app later this month.

Chemical Wedding has integrated Helios Live-View, its real-time sun-position previsualization tool, into Artemis Director's Viewfinder. This is the first time the two platforms' core technologies have been combined and the first time real-time sun-position pre-vis is available within Artemis.

Helios Live-View, introduced in 2014, lets filmmakers preview sun position in real-time. With the integration, Artemis users can now access that live-feed functionality directly within the viewfinder, combining shot previsualization and location lighting planning during scouting into a single workflow.

Helios remains available as a standalone app and will receive what the company promises us is “a substantial update” in late 2026. The updated version of Artemis Director's Viewfinder featuring Helios Live-View will be available in July 2026.
