Godox AD300Pro II: Portable 300 Ws Flash with Updated Features
3:20

The new Godox AD300Pro II provides plenty of portable flash power in a compact unit for outdoor-bound creators.

The Godox AD300Pro II levers 300 Ws into a compact 1.2 kg body, offers fast recycling, approximately 350 full-power flashes per charge, and full wireless TTL/manual support across major camera systems.

Upgrades Over the Original

The original AD300Pro was released five years ago, and, as you would expect, there are improvements aplenty with this model. X3Pro/X3 one-tap sync links the flash instantly thanks to the built-in Godox 2.4 GHz Wireless X system, with no need to manually set up groups or channels. The AD300Pro II is also compatible with other X-series transmitters (XPro Series, X2T, X1) for broader control. For wired or alternate workflows, a 3.5 mm sync port is provided, and the USB-C port supports the optional FR433 433 MHz receiver.

There are also improved control options. A 10-stop range from 1/512 to 1/1 with ±0.1-stop increments gives very fine control over output. This can be useful when balancing several lights or setting delicate fill, allowing you to refine exposure fast, reducing test flashes.

Performance and power

Not that firing off a few test flashes is going to be too much of an issue. The AD300Pro II offers 300 Ws of output with a quoted recycle time of 0.01–1.5 seconds at full power. Godox claims up to around 350 full-power flashes per charge, which rather nicely positions the unit for extended outdoor or location shoots where access to mains power is limited.

That portability vibe is enhanced with a 1.2 kg / 2.6 lb weight and compact footprint, making it an easy fit for most camera backpacks.

User Features

The AD300Pro II includes a 12 W bi-colour LED modeling lamp with adjustable brightness and colour temperature, intended for previewing light placement and providing basic continuous illumination on set.

Shooting modes include Freeze Mode, Color-Stable Mode, High-Speed Sync (HSS), and Multi (stroboscopic), covering a range of stills workflows from action freezing to controlled multi-flash effects. Freeze Mode takes t0.1 flash duration down to 1/24,390 s.

Control is handled via a colour display, metal control dial, and simplified button layout, with the emphasis on faster access to commonly used settings during shoots.

Godox has added a colour group indicator light showing up to 16 distinct colours, designed to make multi-light setups easier to identify at a glance, particularly outdoors or at a distance.

Modifiers and Accessories

The unit uses the native Godox mount and is thus fully compatible with Godox’s range of modifiers. With the optional S3 bracket, Bowens-mount accessories can also be used.

For photographers invested in other ecosystems, the optional AD-AB adapter allows compatibility with Broncolor, Profoto, and Elinchrom mount adapters, expanding modifier options beyond Godox’s own lineup.

Pricing and Availability

Preorders for the AD300Pro II are open now and pricing is $499.
