SWIT releases Mini-150B 150 W bi-color COB light
3:53

SWIT's Mini-150B delivers full 150 W bi-color output from a compact 103 mm head powered by a V-mount battery, USB-C, or AC power options. Pre-orders open now, shipping in Q3.

First previewed at NAB, the SWIT Mini-150B is a new 150 W bi-color COB LED light that maintains full rated output across its entire 2700 K to 6500 K range, from a head measuring 103 x 103 x 124 mm (approx. 4 x 4 x 5 in) and weighing approximately 1.0 kg (2.2 lb) bare, or 1.2 kg (2.6 lb) with reflector, bracket and diffuser fitted.

Two independent 150 W LED arrays, one warm and one cool, combine to hold, the company says, full bi-color output across that entire range. Turbo mode reaches up to 150 W when powered by a V-mount battery above 13 V, while Continuous mode delivers a constant 110 W, which is impressive from battery alone.

The various power options are an important part of the light's appeal. Power comes from an on-board V-mount plate, which accepts a standard V-mount battery directly with no D-Tap cable, handgrip or accessory plate, or from a USB-C input delivering up to 90 W with a 100 W Power Delivery adapter, 50 W with a 65 W adapter, or 40 W with a 45 W adapter (accepting 15V, 20V and 28V, and compatible with PD 3.0, PD 2.0, Samsung AFC, and QC 2.0/3.0). On wall AC through the optional UC-150 adapter, it delivers up to 110 W on 100-127V mains and 120 W on 220-240V mains. At full 150 W output, it runs for approximately 40 minutes on a 99 Wh V-mount battery.

Output: light and noise

SWIT MINI-150B- curvesWith its standard reflector fitted, the light produces 24,000+ lux at 1 m (3.3 ft), measured at 5600 K. It renders CRI Ra 98 and TLCI 98 at every color temperature, with R9 above 90 from 2700 K through 5600 K and TM-30 Rf above 92 across the range. Color temperature holds within ±2% in 50 K steps, and flux variation is rated at 0.4%. Dimming runs from 0 to 100% in 1% steps at 0.1% resolution on a 20 kHz PWM frequency, with linear, logarithmic, exponential and S-curve profiles.

A fan-off mode runs silently at up to 30 W. With active cooling engaged, fan noise measures below 30 dBA at low and medium speed on wall AC, approximately 36 to 38 dBA on battery, and approximately 42 dBA at high speed. The light is rated for continuous operation at full power with active cooling.

The Mini-150B uses a Mini Bowens mount and ships with a Mini-to-Standard Bowens adapter for compatibility with full-size Bowens accessories. The standard kit includes a light-stand bracket, a Mini Bowens reflector with diffusing cover, a tripod adapter base, a USB-C adapter with a 1.8 m (5.9 ft) power cable, and the Bowens adapter.

MINI-150B controlsAn on-board display controls dimming, color temperature, effects, battery level and fan status, and the SWIT Console app (iOS/Android) connects over Bluetooth Mesh for group control, scene presets, effects and firmware updates.
