DaVinci Resolve 21.2 supports MacBook Pro PROLED XDR touch screens and Gen 6 LUTs. Studio adds AI assistant tools, while Fusion Studio and Fairlight Live also update.
Blackmagic Design's dev team has been hard at work as usual, and DaVinci Resolve 21.2 was uploaded to its servers overnight.
Because the company often works closely with Apple, this software update adds support for Apple MacBook Pro laptops with PROLED XDR displays as well as up to 5x faster rendering for M5 Pro and M5 Max Apple silicon chips. This update also adds support for Blackmagic Generation 6 Color Science LUTs and film looks (we covered the Gen 6 release here), as well as source timecode for extracted audio files. There are also fixes for network drive audio issues with some MXF clips and for AAF audio timecode accuracy from interlaced media, plus OGraf template loading and render fixes.
The paid DaVinci Resolve Studio 21.2 version, which is still 20% off at $236 until November 20, adds a few further tweaks, mainly in the AI assistant area. You can find the full list of its additional features below.
Fusion Studio 21.2 adds OGraf and Text+ fixes
Fusion Studio 21.2 has also been updated. Blackmagic says it improves stability, with fixes for custom tool control naming, Text+ CLS border extension anchoring, and OGraf template loading and rendering. The OGraf inspector now shows up to 35 template properties.
Fairlight Live 1.1.1 supports two new control panels
And finally, the new Fairlight Live 1.1.1 release adds support for Fairlight Live Audio Panel 20 and Fairlight Live Audio Panel 40. Blackmagic's control surfaces now cover 10, 20, and 40 faders supported by 1, 2, and 4 touchscreens, and provide controls for layers, bus, matrix, aux, VCA, sub-masters, talkback, and more. Prices scale from $2415 to $8245.
The latest software also includes templates for new ATEM Constellation IP switchers, improves audio I/O management and error reporting, and adds user-defined screen mapping and a panel screensaver after a period of inactivity.
All downloads are free and available from the Blackmagic Design Support Center.
