SwitchX 2.0 goes native 4K as Beeble launches Reframe aspect ratio converter

Beeble has updated SwitchX with native 4K, 20-second clips, and 10-bit color. It's also launched Reframe, a tool for changing aspect ratio while preserving the original performance, motion, and frame count.

Beeble has released SwitchX 2.0, an update to its video-to-video model that lets filmmakers and VFX artists modify lighting, backgrounds, props, and other elements while preserving the original subject and performance.

There’s a fair bit that’s new here, much of which lies in improvements over the original version. Native 4K output, increased from 1080p; longer shots, up to 20 seconds at 24 fps; 10-bit color, up from 8-bit; improved camera tracking; and enhanced motion fidelity and lip synchronization. There’s also a potential cost- and time-effective new Up-res feature, a high-resolution finishing workflow that lets users iterate at 720p before generating the final result at up to 4K.

Reframe 

The company has followed that up by introducing Reframe, powered by SwitchFrame, its own video outpainting model. Reframe expands footage to any aspect ratio while preserving the original performance, motion, and frame count. Users get control over aspect ratio, position, scale, and crop, and Auto Fill or user-uploaded reference images to guide the expanded scene. Clips can be up to 20 seconds, including sub-second clips, with 4K output and 10-bit color, custom aspect ratios, and control over framing and reference guidance.
