Venus Optics releases 2x cine lenses with 2x magnification

The Laowa 65mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine (S35) & Laowa 100mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine (FF) give users another tool for their kitbag by providing 2x magnification.

Here's something that will provide cinematographers with a new degree of  flexibility when it comes to shooting subjects of different sizes. The Laowa 65mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine (S35) & Laowa 100mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine (FF) both offer 2x magnification. We're not sure if this is entirely unique or just extremely unusual, but either way these cine-friendly adaptation of still lenses certainly bring something different to the party.

The Laowa 65mm T2.9 2X Macro APO Cine (Super 35) is available in Fujifilm X / Sony E/ / Nikon Z / Canon EF-M mounts. The Laowa 100mm T2.9 2X Ultra Macro APO Cine (Full Frame) is available in PL / Sony E / Canon EF / Canon RF / L mounts.

Both the 65mm and the 100mm have a T2.9 large aperture for not just creating a shallower depth of field, but also making them useful in low light situations. The focusing ring and the step-less aperture ring are all equipped with industrial standard 0.8 mod gear, while both also feature a 77mm filter thread allowing cinematographers to choose between screw-in filters or using matte boxes.

Weight is 550g for the 65mm and and 957g for the 100mm. Pricing meanwhile is a decent $599 and $999 respectively. Have a look at some sample footage below.
