True Lens Services Vega65: New 65mm Cine Lens Set
1:59

True Lens Services has introduced Vega65, a new large-format cine lens series designed and built entirely in-house by the UK optics specialist.

Following the release of the first Vega lenses in 2017, the new Vega65 lens series represents the latest evolution of True Lens Services' Vega range, and the company says it throws the focus firmly on modern imaging performance and character.

Fast Aperture and True Coverage

The optical design delivers true 65 mm sensor coverage, with consistent image character, controlled depth and separation, and what TLS says is smooth fall-off across the focal range. Fast apertures are aimed at supporting low-light shooting while preserving contrast and depth control. Close focusing performance is emphasised as a creative tool, enabling filmmakers to work closer to subjects without sacrificing optical integrity or character.

The system comprises nine focal lengths from 24 mm to 165 mm, and is engineered for practical, reliable handling. Mechanically, they've been designed to be compact and balanced for use as a 65 mm format set, with each lens matched in focus and iris gear positions to support efficient on-set workflow.

The lenses weigh between 1.38 kg (3.04 lb) and 2.09 kg (4.61 lb), depending on the focal length.

True Lens Services positions Vega65 as a long-term, adaptable system. Existing full-frame Vega lens sets can be upgraded to Vega65 via a dedicated kit, and Vega65 lenses can be converted back to full-frame with an additional conversion kit if required.

Pricing and Availability

The Vega65 lenses are available now through True Lens Services and authorised distributors. Pricing is £81,620 per 9-lens set ($111,660 at current exchange rates). Contact the company directly for individual lens price options.
