Tilta's new Illusion Magnetic Filter Ultimate Kit combines a circular polarizer, variable ND, and Black Mist 1/4 diffusion in a stackable magnetic system for 77 mm and 82 mm lenses.
Tilta's new Illusion Magnetic Filter Ultimate Kit bundles a circular polarizer, variable ND, and Black Mist 1/4 diffusion into a magnetic system that attaches to lenses via included 77 mm and 82 mm adapter rings.
The kit's foundation is the Circular Polarizer Filter, which mounts magnetically to either adapter ring and comes in three variants: a standard CPL, a CPL with five stops of ND built in, and a CPL combined with Black Mist 1/4 for a diffused cinematic look. All three can be rotated to control reflected light and glare from water or glass surfaces.
A separate VND Adapter slots between the CPL and the adapter ring to create a variable ND range of 1–5 stops or 5–10 stops, depending on which polarizer is in use. This stacking arrangement means the CPL and VND functions share a single combined element rather than running as separate pieces of glass, which Tilta says reduces vignetting compared to filter stacking.

Tilta Illusion Magnetic Filter showing Full Spectrum coating and water-repellent glass surface
The glass uses a Full Spectrum coating designed to minimize color cast and carries water- and oil-repellent treatment on both surfaces. Front and rear protective covers are included, compatible with a single filter or a locked-together stack, and a soft carrying case rounds out the kit.
In the box: 77 mm adapter ring, 82 mm adapter ring, CPL filter, CPL with ND (five stops), CPL with Black Mist 1/4, VND adapter, front and rear protective covers, soft carrying case.
Material: aluminum and glass. Dimensions: 228 x 170 x 109 mm (9 x 6.7 x 4.3 in). Weight: 762 g (1.68 lb).
Pricing and availability
The kit will cost $279 at regular pricing, but is available for pre-order at $251.10 (10% off the regular price) until May 22. Additional adapter ring sizes are available separately.

The kit's protective covers and soft carrying case are designed to let filters travel as a locked, compact stack.
