SWIT Introduces PowerCell Series of USB-C Rechargeable Camera Batteries

SWIT's new PowerCell series of USB-C rechargeable camera batteries for popular makes of mirrorless cameras will release this fall.

First unveiled at IBC, SWIT's PowerCell Series of USB-C rechargeable camera batteries will release this fall. The lineup features four models for different camera manufacturers, starting off with Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, and Sony.

Panasonic NCR1850s for Precision

The PowerCell batteries are built around Panasonic NCR1850 lithium-ion cells, which have a reputation for delivering precise discharge curves for accurate runtime prediction. They also provide a decent lifespan, retaining strong performance even after years of use. SWIT says that this means filmmakers can trust consistent results and reliable runtime planning when consulting their camera’s battery indicator. To further help with this, the batteries also feature a 4-level LED charge indicator for quick visual feedback.

All can be charged directly via USB-C 5 V from wall chargers, power banks, or V-mount batteries with USB-C output with no proprietary cradle required. SWIT says built-in intelligent control circuitry ensures stable charging, prevents overheating, and maximizes battery lifespan. Reinforced composite housing and flame-retardant materials provide extra protection against impact, heat, and demanding on-set conditions.
