Strada Secures Strategic Investment from OWC to Expand P2P Media Collaboration Platform

Media collaboration platform Strada has secured a strategic investment from OWC, backing its peer-to-peer approach to file sharing and enabling it to kick on on its developmental roadmap.

Media collaboration startup Strada has announced a significant investment from Other World Computing (OWC), which specializes in high performance storage, memory, connectivity, software, and peripherals for media & entertainment customers. According to Strada, the new investment marks a key milestone in its current fundraising program, and will help to further accelerate its product roadmap. No financial details were disclosed.

Strada was, of course, founded by Michael and Peter Cioni back in 2023 and is steadily building its user base and adding features to its offering, such as expanding onto mobile platforms in October.

P2P a Popular Pitch

One of the core concepts behind Strada is that cloud storage is a) expensive and b) tends to run out. So, Strada supplies 'cloud-like' access to video, audio, and photo files without uploading, without storage fees, and without limits (that said, the lower tiers top out at 250 GB of transfers per month. See Pricing below for more details).

It's a pitch that seems to have very much caught the imagination of Larry O’Connor, Founder and CEO, OWC.

“In my nearly 40-year career running OWC I have seen numerous innovations that improve video content production workflows,” he comments. “What Strada has built is revolutionary: their peer-to-peer technology is so powerful, I believe it has the potential to disrupt more costly, less beneficial ‘existing status quos’. I’m thrilled to partner with Michael and Peter and I cannot wait to pair the Strada software with our OWC hardware. Strada instantly enhances the value of OWC products for every one of our customers.”

Initial Integrations

As a result, over the coming months OWC and Strada will start co-marketing initiatives, including events and social media collaboration. The two companies will also start to offer special incentives to customers who purchase packages of OWC and Strada products. And both companies will share a booth at NAB 2026

It will be interesting to see how the relationship develops beyond these initial stages of software bundling, particularly if it extends into deeper hardware-level integration in the future.

“We want to help video production teams understand they no longer need to rely on expensive and energy-consuming cloud subscriptions in order to collaborate with their remote colleagues," says Michael Cioni.

“As we approach the New Year, I could not be more excited about what we have planned for Strada’s customers. With OWC on our side, we can deliver solutions that will forever change how global teams create video content.”

Pricing

Strada has three main tiers:
