Sony has released v2.0 firmware for the BVM-HX3110 reference monitor, introducing new features, improvements, and bug fixes to enhance user experience and performance.

Over 18 months after it was released, new firmware adds new features to Sony's high-end BVM-HX3110 reference monitor. It squashes a few bugs as well, which would probably have slightly rankled users seeing as how they have likely paid around $34,000 for the 30.5-inch 4K HDR device.

The following new features, improvements, and bug fixes are available.

  • Side-by-Side display of 4K SDI/IP signals
  • BVMK-R10 support
  • Setting copy function among BVM-HXxx10
    Additional support for Closed Caption over 3G-SDI signals
  • Source ID display
  • Status F key
  • Picture out Display
  • H/V Delay
  • Scopes 2x display
  • IP Interface function Status display over Web menu

Improvements 

  • Peak Lumi. 4000/3000/2000/1000/700/600/500/400 from Peak Lumi.4x, 2x and Off
  • 300% Pixel Zoom function from 9 zones of the screen
  • Tally response time

Bug fixes

  • Embedded Audio
  • Native Scan about 1920 x 1080/24PsF
  • Noises about non-selected SDI input
  • Accuracy of long-term color temperature reinforcement
