Shanghai based Kipon has announced a new EF to MFT adaptor

Kipon, a Chinese lens adaptor manufacturer based in Shanghai has been in business for ten years, claims to have been making MFT adaptors with electronic aparture control  for Canon EF lenses for five years

Now there's an adaptor that works with Canon EOS/EF/EF-S lenses complete with working auto focus. It also allows electronic pass though of EXIF data

We don't know much about it from the Kipon website but with such a long history in making adaptors we'd imagine that it works quite well.

Is this big news? We think so. Think of the number of Canon users who might want to use a Panasonic GH4 - or any of the other cinematic cameras that use this lens mount.

It's good news for Canon, as well, because they make the lenses, and can only be pleased that their glass will now work with a pretty large number of other manufacturer's cameras.

We'll bring you more news when we find out more about this device.

Thanks to Petapixel.com for drawing our attention to this.
