Movavi Adds 40+ Adjustable Retro Video Effects

Movavi is rolling out a new version of the Movavi Video Editor, featuring 40+ adjustable effects that let users quickly apply and customize retro styles.

Tapping into the growing trend for nostalgic aesthetics on social platforms, the new video effects in the Movavi Video Editor allow users to easily add a range of retro looks to their content. Covering everything from "VHS grit to nostalgic cinematic tones", the company says these ready-made looks can be applied in one click and then fine-tuned to suit any video.

The idea is that under the hood advanced shader technologies handle all the complex processing, but for the user it remains  incredibly simple. Fast too. The Movavi team found in testing that preset effect combinations can cut editing time for visual styling by up to 40%, reducing repetitive manual adjustments.

“Users, especially younger creators, want to create quickly and produce expressive visuals,” Movavi CPO Maxim Okhokhonin explained. “Our testing showed that flexible effect styles help them stay in the flow by removing repetitive steps and letting them focus on the story.”
