Laowa Adds 20mm T2 to Proteus 2X S35 Anamorphic Line

Laowa expands its professional Proteus 2× S35 anamorphic series with a new 20 mm T2 lens, offering a wider field of view, closer focus, and the same signature character and numerous options.

The Laowa Proteus Series is the company's professional anamorphic series for Super 35 sensors with a 2X constant squeeze ratio. This series has been expanding since it was introduced, and with the addition of the 20mm lens now comes in 7 focal lengths (20, 28, 35, 45, 60, 85, and 100mm).

An eighth 135mm lens will be available to order later in the year.

T2 Across the Board

The set features a universal T2 aperture, delivering excellent image quality and consistent classic anamorphic characteristics including elliptical bokeh and signature flares with blue, amber and silver options.

The new lens offers a 104.7° horizontal angle of view, and brings down the minimum focusing distance from 55 cm to 48 cm (1.6 ft). PL mount in default, an interchangeable EF bayonet is included in the package.

The lens, like the others, is available in blue, amber, and silver flare options, with a Flex version (interchangeable flare) also offered. Imperial / Metric versions are also available.

Individual lenses in the series are priced at $4999, with discounts available for groups of two or the whole set.
