Google launched its impressive new Gemini 2.5 Flash Image state-of-the-art image generation and editing model earlier this week, and it’s already available in Adobe Firefly and Adobe Express.
The more the merrier. Adobe has consistently stated that the best way to create amazing content is to have access to a broad and diverse set of generative AI models. Across Adobe Firefly and Adobe Express, customers, of course, have the choice to use the company's family of commercially safe Firefly generative AI models for image, video, vector, and audio. They also have another choice, though: to use partner generative AI models from Google, OpenAI, Black Forest Labs, Runway, Pika, Ideogram, Luma AI, Moonvalley, and more.
Different Styles & More Speed
Each generative AI model has its own aesthetic style, which can be seamlessly brought into Creative Cloud apps such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Premiere to refine or edit. And the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image state-of-the-art image generation and editing model — aka 'Nano Bananas' — is now the latest that can be added to the list.
The new model was released on August 26 and is already available in Firefly’s Text to Image module, Firefly Boards (beta), and Adobe Express. It's caused a bit of a stir too, not only for the quality of its images and the reasoning behind them, but also the sheer speed with which it operates.
Promotion & Availability Details
To further seed interest in the model, for a limited time Adobe Firefly will offer paid customers unlimited generations with Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. You'll have to be pretty quick about it, however; the offer is available through September 1 for Adobe Firefly and Creative Cloud Pro paid members — including up to 20 generations for new customers on Firefly's free plan.
Privacy and Content Credentials
It's worth restating Adobe's position that regardless of the generative AI model you choose to use in Adobe products, the content you generate and upload in its apps will not be used to train generative AI models in turn. "This has always been the case for Adobe Firefly generative AI models, and it’s a requirement in all our partnership agreements," writes the company. "In addition, to promote transparency, Content Credentials are attached to all wholly AI-generated content created in Adobe Firefly and Adobe Express."
