The new EIZO ColorEdge CG3200X is its first ColorEdge OLED monitor, a 31.5-inch 4K HDR display with a new ABL system and built-in calibration sensor.

EIZO Corporation arrives in Amsterdam with the newly released ColorEdge CG3200X, a 31.5-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) color management OLED monitor built for HDR post-production, supporting HLG, PQ, and SDR mastering workflows.

This is the first OLED model in EIZO's ColorEdge range (the non-OLED CS3200X was announced in April 2026), and uses QD-OLED technology with a peak brightness of 1000 nits, full-screen white brightness of 300 nits, and a typical contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1.

ABL innovation

One interesting innovation for the new monitor is a new Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) system. Because OLED panels emit light per pixel, bright scenes increase power and heat demands, and displays typically apply ABL to protect the panel, which can then shift tone and color as more of the screen brightens.

EIZO has built a new ABL control system for the CG3200X that sustains brightness across more of the image before dimming engages. Two dimming modes are available: Highlight Dimming, which reduces brightness only in the brightest areas while preserving mid- and low-luminance detail, and Uniform Dimming, which adjusts brightness evenly across the screen. An ABL Safe View function reduces the active display area to 10% or 25%, lowering average brightness so creators can preview content at its intended brightness without ABL engaging. A luminance warning and a front bezel indicator show when ABL is active.

Accommodating SDR

SDR content is typically mastered for displays with contrast ratios of 1000:1 to 2000:1, which can look different on OLED's much higher native contrast. The CG3200X allows a custom contrast ratio from 500:1 to 2000:1, adjustable in 100-step increments, for more accurate SDR representation. A dedicated correction circuit is also included to reduce color fringing on high-contrast text and fine detail edges, an issue on some OLED monitors.

The monitor has a built-in calibration sensor, removing the need for an external device. This has been redesigned for quieter operation than on previous EIZO models.

Other specs include 99% DCI-P3 coverage, an AGLR (anti-glare, low-reflection) screen, a Sync Signal function that automatically switches color mode to match the incoming video signal, and USB-C with 60 W power delivery alongside DisplayPort and HDMI inputs. Screen saver, pixel adjustment, and internal heat management functions are included for burn-in protection, and a magnetic shading hood ships with the unit.

Pricing and availability

The ColorEdge CG3200X will begin shipping within 2026, though the exact date varies by country. Pricing is currently TBA.
