DJI Mic Mini 2S launches with 32-bit float internal recording

DJI's Mic Mini 2S adds 32-bit float internal recording and four-transmitter support, new features which almost double its price over the Mic Mini 2.

DJI has launched the Mic Mini 2S, adding internal recording to the Mic Mini series for the first time. Expanding on the recently launched DJI Mic Mini 2, the transmitter supports 32-bit float internal recording, storing up to 28 hours of audio in default 24-bit mode on approximately 14.5 GB of built-in storage, capturing a wide dynamic range without clipping even if the wireless connection drops.

AI noise canceling

Two-level AI noise canceling adapts to the environment: Basic reduces indoor background sound such as fans and air conditioning, while Strong targets louder outdoor noise. Clipping Control automatically lowers gain to prevent distortion during sudden volume spikes, and Loudness Balance keeps output levels consistent for interviews and livestreams. Three voice tone presets, Regular, Bright, and Rich, adjust the audio profile without further post-production work.

The receiver now connects to up to four transmitters at once, up from two on the Mic Mini 2, and remains compatible with Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2 transmitters, as well as the DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver.

Dimensions and range

The transmitter weighs approximately 12 g (0.42 oz), up very slightly from the Mic Mini 2, and supports both clip-on and magnetic mounting. As with the Mic Mini 2, the detachable magnetic front cover comes in eight colors, sold separately, alongside a Time Series cover designed with illustrator Victo Ngai.

Wireless range is up to 400 m (1312 ft) via the standard receiver, or up to 300 m (984 ft) in green light mode and 200 m (656 ft) in blue light mode via the Mobile Receiver.

The transmitter connects directly to the Osmo Pocket 4P, Osmo Pocket 4, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano, and Osmo Action 6, sending 48 kHz/24-bit audio without a receiver.

And if we’re getting bored with writing this, you’re getting bored with reading it: the Mic Mini 2S is not being released in the US, as DJI's authorization application there is still pending FCC approval.

DJI Mic Mini 2S is available now from store.dji.com and authorized retailers. The extra capabilities make it almost double the price of the standard DJI Mic Mini 2.
