CREE8 Continues Acquisition Path with Purchase of PRODUCER

Cloud production studio platform CREE8 is accelerating the build-out of a fully cloud-based ecosystem with its acquisition of Producer production management software.

We've written about PRODUCER before. It's an interesting all-in-one production software tool that looks to simplify, organize, and streamline the whole process of production management. It looks like it works too. Over the past 18 months it's built its client base steadily up to around the 20,000-user mark, and as such became an object of interest for cloud production studio platform CREE8.

CREE8 positions itself as eliminating the patchwork of tools and infrastructure involved in modern production by re-engineering it wholesale into the cloud (it's very much not a lift-and-shift operation). "From capture to distribution, your creative team works in a single environment that's fast, flexible, and built to scale," it says. With PRODUCER now part of the stable, it will extend that functionality further into the heart of pre-production planning and ongoing management once all the integrations are complete

CREE8 has been acquisitive of late and obviously has money to spend. In September it bought cloud production specialist Edit Cloud for its expertise in cloud-based workflows and enterprise adoption support. Customers include NHRA, CNN, Intuit, Wayfair, Hallmark, and British Airways, so it's obviously able to play at the big tables. One to watch.
