Creamsource's C3 is a 3000 W full-color LED Fresnel, the first in a new product line. It's IP65-rated and priced from $18,800.

Creamsource has launched the C3, a powerful 3000 W full-color LED Fresnel and the first fixture in a new product line from the company behind the Vortex Series of LED panels.

To mark the launch, Creamsource made a short film, CHANG’E, with director Arden Tse and cinematographer Luo Pan, ASC, CNSC, shot on 35mm. This is not your average product launch video.

A Fresnel from the ground-up

The new light was built as a self-contained Fresnel from the outset, rather than being an all-purpose fixture with an added Fresnel attachment. It uses a proprietary optical design and an integrated power supply, and carries an IP65 rating. Spot-to-flood focus runs from 18° to 60°, controlled via DMX or a manual avionic speed-control paddle; the Fresnel lens itself stays fixed while the focus movement happens internally.

Creamsource C3 rear panel with control display, dials, connectors, and vented cooling grilleThe fixture draws 3000 W, delivering 10,000 lux at 10 m (32.8 ft) in full spot and 1500 lux at 10 m (32.8 ft) in full flood. A liquid-cooled thermal management system keeps the delta across the light engine to no more than 5°C.

Color is handled by a newly designed 7-color BCGLARD engine, which extends the native Vortex gamut by 20% and covers over 92% of Rec. 2020. It runs Creamsource Color Management System (CCMS) for consistency across fixtures, and provides CRI 98, TLCI 98. It weighs 45 kg (99.2 lbs) without yoke.

Nine Creamsource C3 LED Fresnels rigged in a 3x3 array on truss, showing tightly packed square lensesThe body is caged for handling and rigging, and fixtures link via LNX to form impressive larger C3 arrays. A square Fresnel lens minimizes gaps and shadowing between units when combined, reducing the diffusion needed on arrays. Control protocols include DMX, Ethernet, Bluetooth, LumenRadio, and USB.

Pricing and availability

The Creamsource C3 starts at $18,800 and will be available to order from November 2026, with first shipments expected in Q2 2027.
