Hollyland launches Pyro 7 Ultra all-in-one wireless monitor

Hollyland's Pyro 7 Ultra pairs broadcast-grade color accuracy with 1 km wireless range in a single 7-inch monitor, priced at $1399.

Hollyland has further expanded its Pyro 7 range with the Pyro 7 Ultra, an all-in-one 7-inch HD wireless monitor that marries broadcast-grade color monitoring with long-range, low-latency wireless video transmission in a single unit. It's aimed at cinematographers, directors, camera operators, DITs, and focus pullers for a variety of on-set jobs including camera-top monitoring, wireless focus pulling, and mobile director monitoring.

The QD-LCD display is Calman pre-calibrated to ΔE <1.5 out of the box, with 99% Rec.709 and 95% DCI-P3 coverage, Gamma 2.4, and up to 1500 nits of brightness. Recalibration is handled through the Hollyland Color Calibrator, which doesn't require a PC or third-party calibration hardware.

HDMI and SDI interfaces support loop-through and cross-output, and, often critical to match the workflow, camera control is available on select Sony, Canon, Nikon, and ARRI models, covering the usual gamut of shutter, aperture, ISO, white balance, and other functions.

Wireless transmission runs on Hollyland's Twin-WiFi technology, using two wireless bands simultaneously with automatic frequency hopping to reduce interference. This helps extend its range up to 1 km (3300 feet), with latency as low as 20 ms in Focus Mode. One transmitter can send 4K60 video to an unlimited number of receivers. The monitor runs HollyOS, Hollyland's operating system, with direct display controls, customizable monitoring layouts, and image analysis tools.

The Pyro 7 Ultra measures 180 x 116 x 46.2 mm (7.09 x 4.57 x 1.82 in) and weighs 630 g (1.39 lb). It's also compatible with Hollyland's wider Pyro ecosystem of transmitters, receivers, and monitors, allowing productions to expand or reconfigure wireless monitoring setups.
