AutoFull's M6 Ultra 2.0 gaming chair brings built-in cooling, heating and massage to the edit suite, at under a third of the price of something like a Herman Miller Aeron.
As a freelance journalist covering the broadcast, film and post industries for decades, I have many a time looked on in envy at other people’s chairs. While I have been perched on a succession of $100 IKEA office chairs, others have been able to specify something like the $2000 or so Herman Miller Aeron as a prerequisite of their contracts. In fact, during the early 2000s, I would swear there were more Aerons than colorists and editors in Soho, and the amount invested by the average post house in chairs alone must have reached an easy six figures.
But while the Aeron remains an iconic classic and beloved by many, there is a new breed of chairs, originally designed for gamers, that are making an impact in the industry too. Not only do they come without the eye-watering premium attached, but they bring serious moxie into post’s grading suites and edit bays, alongside features and ergonomics honed in the increasingly competitive (and increasingly monied) esports arenas.
Take the AutoFull M6 Ultra 2.0, as an example, which we first became aware of when one of our press contacts in China moved companies. AutoFull was an official partner of IEM Cologne in both 2025 and 2026, and works with a number of well-known professional esports players and teams including NiKo, Uzi, TheShy, Horcus, and Rogue. Their stringent demands have all fed into the design of the M6 Ultra 2.0, which is being billed as the world's first ergonomic gaming chair featuring built-in ventilation, heating, and massage functions.
Say what?
Ergonomics just the start
There’s a lot going on here. First you have the traditional chair ergonomics to talk about. It features a 3D adjustable headrest, fully adjustable armrests, and an integrated retractable footrest that lets you get into just the right position for long gaming and/or editing sessions. An adaptive lumbar support system follows your movements and continuously adjusts to provide real-time back support, the company saying this works whether you’re leaning forward to concentrate on a grade or reclining to watch playback.
Then there are all the active features. There’s a dual-oscillator massage system inside the lumbar support, offering three adjustable intensity levels to help alleviate the stiffness from long sessions. Breathable leather is already 3℃ cooler than normal leather, but this is further augmented by fans built into the seat cushion that can lower seat temperature by a highly welcome 56%.

Working at the opposite end of the year? Then there are heating units embedded in the cushion that will raise the temperature up again and replicate the sort of heated seat you find in your car. The seat cushion also features its own vibration massage system.
In short, the chair does everything it possibly can to keep you fresh and comfortable when you have to spend long hours working away at a project. It even reclines all the way back to 160° so you can use that integrated footrest for a proper power nap and recharge. Bonus.

From ultrawide monitors to now chairs, gaming is providing an increasing stock of components that can help improve workflows in the post and production sectors. As esports in particular grows each year, so companies are increasingly investing in the R&D that helps service the exacting demands of the pro teams and players. Should we take advantage of this? If the M6 Ultra 2.0 is anything to go by, absolutely.
Pricing and availability
The M6 Ultra 2.0 is available worldwide now. But the clincher for us that makes us really interested in the chair is the pricing, which comes in at under a third of that of something like the Aeron. Here are some links and the current offer pricing:
And frankly, given the recent heatwave in the UK, we could have done with some of that fan-assisted cooling around our lower regions…
