Atomos talks Ninjas, Shoguns, differentiating the Ultras, and more

1 minute read

Shot on the IBC showfloor, Dave Shapton talks to Atomos’s Paul Scurrell about the company’s latest releases and newest technologies.

Atomos has had a busy few months of it, first releasing the Ninja and the Ninja Ultra in August, and following that up with the Shogun and the Shogun Ultra, which were both announced as IBC opened.

One of the key characteristics of the new models is that they are trying to standardise the differentiation across the company’s range between the normal and the Ultra units, rather than just follow the slightly ad hoc rules of the past.

Paul Scurrell, Senior VP of Product at the company, runs us through the differences between them, as well as talking about the impact of camera-to-cloud workflows and the phenomenal speed with which they’ve gone from first introduction to normal and pretty much everyday in the space of 18 months.
