ARRI Releases Support System for the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55

The number of accessories on the market for the FUJIFILM GFX ETERNA 55 continues to expand, with ARRI the latest company to pitch in with a full camera cage.

The new ETERNA camera cage is the latest addition to ARRI's Pro Camera Accessories (PCA) range. It's a modular design that consists of a two-part top plate, a BUD base plate, and three side brackets, enabling rapid camera builds that can be adapted to different shooting scenarios.

NATO Integration

As with the ARRI cages for the Sony BURANO, Canon C400, and Sony Venice Extension Mini that went before it, the ETERNA cage integrates NATO rails directly into the side brackets. This provides flexible rigging options and support for ARRI NATO accessories, including the NRC-2 clamp for mounting wireless video transmitters.

The top section includes a plate with multiple mounting threads and a top-mounted NATO rail. This secures the side brackets and provides attachment points for rod clamps and other accessories. ARRI handles such as the CCH-4 can also be mounted to the top plate. These can be removed from the camera body’s dovetail interface to allow use of the native FUJIFILM handle when required.

ARRI is also offering a viewfinder adapter set to enable more flexible and stable mounting of FUJIFILM's 5-inch onboard LCD monitor. The set includes the Rod Mounting Bracket RMB-8, Viewfinder Adapter VFA-4, and a viewfinder cross pipe. It can be used with either the Fujifilm top handle or an ARRI handle, and can be further customized with ARRI HEX extensions.

Balance Utility Dovetail

Following ARRI’s current approach to third-party camera support, the ETERNA base plate is designed as a BUD (Balance Utility Dovetail). This ensures tool-less compatibility with ARRI ALEXA 35 accessories, including SAM plates, and allows quick transitions to stabilized configurations using ARRI CSS systems such as TRINITY 2 and ARTEMIS 2, as well as third-party gimbals like MōVI and DJI Ronin 2.

Pricing and Availability 

The ARRI cage for ETERNA is available in Pro and Basic Sets, along with Extended Pro and Extended Basic Sets that add handheld components such as a shoulder pad, rosette brackets, and 15 mm rods. The Lightweight Tripod Plate LTP-1, which allows direct tripod mounting of the BUD via an integrated Touch and Go 35 snap plate, is included in the Basic Set and both Extended Sets.

The ARRI Support Set for Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 is available to order now. No word on pricing, but would expect it to be up at standard ARRI levels
