Aputure Announces New Quick Dome Diffusers and Updates INFINIMAT

Aputure introduces a new Quick Dome range and upgrades INFINIMATs with clear airbags and interchangeable diffusers.

Diffuser news from Aputure. The new Quick Dome diffusers set up and collapse in seconds, use a robust frame for long life, and include a convenient handle for quick assembly. The INFINIMAT range, meanwhile, is updated with a new interchangeable diffusion design and accessories.

Quick Domes Launch 

The new Quick Domes are available in three sizes: 90cm, 60cm, and 40cm. The Quick Dome 90 and Quick Dome 60 feature a Bowens mount with an integrated handle for leverage and easy grip, while the Quick Dome 40 uses the smaller Mini ProLock mount for attaching to the STORM 80c. All three sizes fold flat for storage and include removable diffusion, a light control grid and carry bag. The STORM 80c 3-Light kit now includes the Quick Dome 40.

Featuring deep parabolic designs and highly reflective silver interiors, Aputure says all three produce smooth, uniform soft light that maintains even luminance from center to edge. The largest model, the Quick Dome 90, provides the broadest and most powerful output, featuring both 1-stop and 2-stop front diffusion cloths, an internal baffle, and a 40° fabric light control grid for adjustable softness and directionality. The Quick Dome 60 offers a slightly smaller and more efficient light source, including a single 1-stop front diffusion cloth, an internal baffle, and a 40° grid for shaping spill and refining contrast.

The Quick Dome 40 maintains a similar optical profile but is optimized for close-range use such as tabletop, interview, or product work. Again it features both 1-stop and 2-stop front diffusion cloths and a 40° grid for fine-tuned control in tight spaces.

INFINIMAT Goes Clear

The INFINIMAT range was launched at NAB last year, and uses an inflatable airbag to give structure to the light and provide diffusion. This has been significantly overhauled so that the airbag is now clear with interchangeable diffusers, allowing users to select the look while providing a smooth, seamless surface across the unit.

Powered by an advanced RGBWW chipset, INFINIMAT offers a 2000K–10,000K CCT
range with green-magenta adjustment, >90% Rec. 2020 color coverage, and pixel-
level control for creative lighting effects. 

In addition, as an optional accessory, Aputure also offers a collapsible frame with interchangeable diffusers, which can be used instead of the airbag.

The new clear airbag with interchangeable diffusers will be included on all models of INFINIMATs, 1x2, 1x4, 2x4, 4x4, 8x8, and 20x20. The accessory frames with diffusers will be available for the 1x2, 1x4, 2x4, and 4x4 models.

Current INFINIMAT owners can purchase clear replacement airbags with interchangeable diffusers to update their lights.

Pricing and Availability 

The Aputure Quick Dome diffusers are available for pre-order now at the following price points: Quick Dome 40 - $99; Quick Dome 60 - $129; and Quick Dome 90 - $219. The INFINIMAT range starts at $850 for a 1x2 and peaks at an impressive $78,900 for the equally impressive 20x20.
