7artisans releases affordable INFINTE full-frame cinema primes

1 minute read

Trailed at NAB, 7artisans' new set of seven INFINTE  full-frame cine primes cover focal lengths from wide-angle (16 mm) to telephoto (135 mm) at a relatively affordable pricing.

7artisans has built a decent reputation over recent years for delivering premium glass at distinctly non-premium prices, and the new INFINTE full-frame cinema primes coming in at around $800 each are a case in point.

The lenses cover seven focal lengths: 16, 24, 35, 50, 85, 105, and 135 mm. Aperture varies by focal length from T2.1 to T2.5; everything is T2.1 except the 135 mm T2.4 prime and the wide-angle 16mm T2.5. All have the same 90 mm front diameter, though that 16 mm lens takes 86 mm threaded filters while the rest stick to 82.

There's variation throughout, in fact. The 16 mm has a 10-bladed aperture, the 135 mm has 17-blades, and the rest standardise to a degree on 11-blades. Happily, the further down the spec sheet you read the more commonality you find. Each features 330 degrees of focus travel, 68.8 to 81.8 degrees of aperture ring throw, M0.8 gear pitching, and covers the same 43.5 mm image circle. They also have the same nano-reflective multi-layer and full-view anti-glare coatings.

The lenses support interchangeable PL and EF mounts, while adapters widen that out to all major mirrorless platforms, including E, Z, RF, and L-mount.

Pricing and availability

The INFINTE series is available now with prices from $719 to $889. Bundle prices even this out, with the full seven lens set available for $5523 or $789 a lens.
