SANDMARC launches new "Motion Pro" variable ND filter

1 minute read

SANDMARC has announced the launch of a new "Motion Pro" variable ND filter with what it claims is the widest non-vignetting range of settings on the market.

Variable ND filters are a must have if you are doing any sort of fast shooting with a hybrid style camera that doesn't have ND built in. SANDMARC's new filter covers a range from 3-6 stops, which the company claims is the widest non-vignetting range on the market.

Of late we have been spoilt for choice recently with products from both PolarPro and Moment. So what are the main features of SANDMARC's offering? For a start it's ultra-thin at a depth of just 7.2mm and it is made from industrial grade aluminium. The filter comes with its own pouch although currently there's no mention of whether it comes with some of the extras that came with, for instance, PolarPro's offering such as the tough rubber lens cap.

SANDMARC's filter will be available in ranges from between 58mm and 82mm although currently there's no mention of price. We do know that the iPhone version of the filter comes in at US$99. Find out more on the SANDMARC website.
