Pro Sound Effects has added a native panel to Avid Media Composer, putting over 1.2 million licensed sound effects directly inside the timeline for the first time.
Pro Sound Effects (PSE) has launched a native panel integration for Avid Media Composer, giving editors direct access to its library of over 1.2 million professionally recorded sound effects without leaving the editing interface. This, it reckons, makes it the first sound effects platform to offer this capability.
Built on Avid's Media Composer Panel SDK, the integration supports fully licensed sound effects workflows from early temp edits through final picture lock. For post-production teams under deadline pressure, that should mean no more switching out of the timeline to hunt for sounds in a separate browser or app.
The panel also connects to SoundQ, PSE's free cross-platform desktop app, allowing teams to browse, search, and organize sounds from their own internal SFX libraries stored on local, network, or cloud storage, including Avid Nexis. Sounds import directly into Media Composer bins with metadata intact.
Award-winning sounds
PSE's library includes recordings from award-winning sound designers including Mark Mangini (Mad Max: Fury Road), Richard King (Dune: Part Two), and Chris Watson (Earthsounds).
The PSE panel for Avid Media Composer is available now and free to all Pro Sound Effects customers. More information: prosoundeffects.com/media-composer.
Sounds are available as either a lifetime single purchase of $5 per file, or via a range of subscription tiers that start at $29/mo per user.
