New Conversion & IP Video Products and Updates from AJA

AJA Video Systems has introduced a raft of new products and updates ahead of IBC that address signal flow management in different environments across the industry.

Good to see the usual busy display of new technology from AJA heading to the Amsterdam RAI, with the company continuing to push forward in its aim to connect pipes around the industry. Here's what will be new at the show.

IP25-R

The IP25-R de-encapsulates SMPTE ST 2110 video, audio, and ancillary data with frame-accurate synchronization for output to baseband 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 devices. It includes dual 10/25GbE network ports, two HDMI 2.0 outputs, and four 12G-SDI BNC outputs, and delivers low-latency video up to 4K DCI (4096x2160p60) with HDR metadata handling. IP25-R will be available through AJA’s reseller network for $3995.

UDC-4K

The UDC-4K Mini-Converter provides 12G-SDI/HDMI 2.0 conversion, 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD scaling, frame rate conversion, and frame synchronization. Several features  are engineered to streamline signal flow management, including an integrated color LCD display and button control panel to save teams configuration time and reduce cable clutter, active cooling and front-to-back airflow for high reliability, SDI VPID and HDMI Infoframe HDR signaling management, and a built-in EDID emulator. UDC-4K will be available through AJA’s reseller network for $1595.

BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4

BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 is a 1RU high-density Ultra HD IP workflow solution that supports a range of applications. 4x bi-directional 12G-SDI ports provide encoding, decoding, and transcoding between SDI and IP codecs/protocols including H.264, H.265, NDI, SRT, RTMP, and HLS. It supports applications including multi-channel transport, streaming, remote production, and distribution encoding. BRIDGE LIVE 12G-4 will be available through AJA’s reseller network for $17,999.

Desktop Software v17.6

The upcoming Desktop Software v17.6 expands AJA KONA IP25 functionality. The update adds Video+Key playout/TX per SMPTE ST 2110-20:2022, support for up to 4:4:4 12-bit 4K, and selectable “multiple ST 2110-30 audio streams per video” modes for routing up to 16 channels. New features include IGMPv3 with Source Specific Multicasting for Layer 3 network support and Forward Error Correction (FEC) for improved media reliability over long-distance IP transport.
