One of the prototypes currently lighting up Kickstarter is the MagDisk from EON Electronics, billed as a MagSafe SSD, power bank, and USB-C hub.

EON Electronics' MagDisk is a portable SSD offering storage capacities of 512GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB with read and write speeds of up to 2000 MB/s. It comes with a USB-C 3.2 20Gbps port for connectivity. For today's mobile content creators, the MagDisk is perfect for recording Apple ProRes Log 4K60, allowing the 512GB model to capture approximately 34 minutes of footage, while the 4TB variant provides ample storage for up to 278 minutes.

What sets the MagDisk apart is its dual functionality as a power bank, a feature only available in the 512GB and 1TB models. The 512GB model comes with a 2400mAh capacity, while the 1TB model features a 1500mAh capacity. The larger 2TB and 4TB models lack the space for the power bank, which is a shame, but there is only so much space to fit everything.

The wireless power bank not only offers cable-free charging for iPhones, but it also stands out with Qi2 compatibility. This feature has more efficient and faster charging compared to the conventional Qi standard. In addition, the MagDisk is equipped with Apple Find My compatibility, allowing users to track their device after pairing it with their iPhone through the Find My app.

The MagDisk estimated delivery is March 2024. The smaller 512GB model retails for $109, and the larger 1TB model is $159. 2TB is $189, and 4TB is $239. Find out more here.
