GoPro has introduced the LIT HERO, a lightweight 'lifestyle' camera with a built-in light that records 4K video at up to 60 frames per second.
Alongside the MAX2, GoPro has also launched the LIT HERO today, which is certainly small and designed to access the places other cameras don't reach. It weighs 93 grams (3.28 oz), features magnetic mounting for quick setup, and is waterproof to a depth of 5 meters (16 ft).
The built-in light is an interesting choice by GoPro. While ostensibly intended to allow shooting at any time of day, including in complete darkness, it also seems to produce a distinctive “retro” aesthetic compared to stark low light smartphone imagery.

Video can be captured in 4K60 with support for 2x slow motion. An optional 4:3 aspect ratio is available for a wider field of view and easier reframing into 9:16 social formats. Stills are recorded at 12MP and are also in 4:3 for flexible cropping.
The LIT HERO is powered by GoPro’s Enduro battery, which the company says delivers up to 100 minutes of continuous recording at maximum quality settings on a single charge.
Pricing and Availability
The camera is priced at $269 and is available for preorder now on GoPro.com. Shipments and retail availability are scheduled to begin October 21.
