Fujifilm adds VF-GFXC2 viewfinder and ProRemote app to GFX ETERNA 55 ecosystem

Fujifilm has revealed a dedicated EVF and a remote-control app for the GFX ETERNA 55, both debuting at IBC2026 in Amsterdam.

Fujifilm is adding to the growing ecosystem surrounding the well-regarded GFX ETERNA 55 at IBC.

VF-GFXC2 EVF

First up is the VF-GFXC2, a dedicated electronic viewfinder for the camera and expected to be released by the end of 2026.

The VF-GFXC2 has a resolution of 2048x1536 and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. Its native 4:3 OLED display panel matches the GFX ETERNA 55's 4:3 open-gate sensor mode, showing the entire frame without cropping, at 1.0x magnification. Display characteristics adjust automatically based on screen brightness to preserve natural image tones as settings change, while a large eyecup blocks ambient light for clearer visibility in high-contrast scenes.

The body is a simple cylindrical design with a machined aluminum exterior, with function buttons positioned for easy reach and a diopter adjustment dial calibrated for precise operation.

No word yet on pricing or any firmer availability apart from 2026.

ETERNA ProRemote

Available from September 10, the ETERNA ProRemote is an iOS or iPadOS remote-control app for the GFX ETERNA 55. The app connects to the camera via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or wired LAN, without needing to enter an IP address manually.

Three connection modes are available with recording status (tally) monitoring available across all three modes.

• Simple: Bluetooth only, no access point required, up to four cameras. Covers start/stop recording, power zoom control, and saving or loading camera setting profiles. No live view.
• Advanced-Single: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, no access point required, one camera only. Adds live view monitoring and full remote-rec control, including focus, iris, and zoom.
• Advanced-Multiple: Wi-Fi or wired LAN via an external access point, up to four cameras simultaneously, each with live view and full remote-rec control.

In Advanced-Single and Advanced-Multiple modes, the app also displays exposure and color tools, including waveform, vectorscope, and histogram, as either an overlay or a side-by-side panel, alongside live camera data such as frame rate, shutter angle, ISO, ND filter value, iris, and color settings.

Recorded clips and frame grabs can be transferred to the connected device, and custom camera settings can be saved, loaded, and copied between cameras in Simple or Advanced-Multiple mode.
