Digital Anarchy updates Beauty Box and EFF-IT!

New updates and new features arrive for two of Digital Anarchy's tools, the digital makeup and skin retoucher Beauty Box and the recently launched EFF-IT!

Beauty Box, which is Digital Anarchy’s AI-powered digital makeup and skin retouching set of tools, has received an update to version 6.0. It includes Shine Removal, Skin Smoothing and Retouching for video, automatic masking, and faster rendering via support for NVIDIA CUDA, Apple Metal, and OpenCL. Additionally, the Shine Removal and skin retouching features are separate plugins, so separate masks can be used. 

Beauty Box AI is available now and costs $199 for a new license or $99 from ver. 5.0 and $149 from older versions. It’s also part of Anarchy Cloud annual subscription: $99 for the One Host App or $199 for All Access. Learn more here. By way of an example, freelance colorist and finishing artist Jason Bowdach, C.S.H., used Beauty Box on a recent music video to help cut down on shine issues due to lights. In the world of music videos, production and post are fast with super tight deadlines, so using Beauty Box was beneficial to fix the shiny issues. Check out the music video below.

The wonderfully named EFF-IT! was introduced at NAB 2025 and can automatically bleep out curse words in clips or sequences via an imported transcript. Version 1.1 takes advantage of Premiere Pro’s API which allows for sequences to be bleeped with the need for extra steps. 

The tone and frequency of the bleep is customizable. Plus words can be added to the Flagged Words list, or removed. This way, if a word was added by mistake, it can be removed (and the bleep disappears), and vice versa.
