Core SWX PowerVault: One case to charge them all
2:31

Core SWX's PowerVault unifies V-Mount, G-Mount, Sony, Canon, Panasonic, and AA batteries into one IP65-rated charging case with built-in power sharing.

Core SWX has launched a crowd-funding cycle for PowerVault, a modular battery charging and power management system that consolidates multiple chargers and battery formats into a single transport-ready case. While consumer gadgets happily standardise on USB-C (one of the best things the EU has ever done), pro video work can still be a nightmare hodge-podge of different technologies. This at least puts it all in one place.

It was developed in collaboration with Armand Ferreira (@mondobytes), who leads the introductory video.

Five flexible bays

The system uses five configurable bays fitted with interchangeable SNAP adapters, supporting V-Mount, G-Mount, Core's own SNAP packs, Sony BP-U, Sony L-Series, Sony FZ100, Canon BP-A, Canon LP-E6, Panasonic Lumix BLK22, and AA/AAA/9V batteries. Each bay delivers up to 48W, allowing, for example, a 98Wh V-Mount to charge in around two hours while five batteries charge simultaneously. SNAP packs can be stacked in parallel across all five bays, scaling to up to 40 packs.

A Power Sharing Mode lets batteries redistribute energy between bays without AC input, with the top three bays feeding power to the lower two. The system also functions as a power hub, with a 140W PD Pro port, a 65W PD Pro port, and dual 45W USB-C outputs for running cameras, monitors, and laptops.

PD Pro is Core SWX's enhanced USB-C power delivery spec, extending beyond standard USB-C limits for higher voltage and sustained power to high-draw devices. Monitoring is handled through a Bluetooth app built on Core SWX's VoltBridge platform, providing real-time battery levels and charge status. Physical LED indicators at each port offer a quick charge-status check without the app.

Size and pricing

powervault use caseThe case is IP65-rated and uses a GaN power architecture with passive cooling. Dimensions are 38 cm × 36 cm × 20 cm (15" × 14" × 8") and weight is 2.4 kg (5.4 lb). Power input is 24V DC via external supply, with 90–240VAC compatibility.

PowerVault is currently available via a limited crowdfunder at an introductory price of $749, which includes three adapters. Individual adapters cost $79 - $99.  Pricing rises to $999 following the initial production run of 500 units, with shipping anticipated October 31, 2026. More details here.
