Cooke brings Nikon Z-mount to SP3 and AP3 mirrorless lenses

Cooke has struck a licensing deal with Nikon, adding Z-mount to its SP3 and AP3 lens ranges. Z-mounts ship from August 2026, free with new lens purchases.

Cooke Optics has entered into a licence agreement with Nikon to bring Z-mount to its SP3 and AP3 mirrorless lens series, following demand from the cinematography community.

Cooke launched the SP3 mirrorless prime series in September 2023 and the AP3 1.5x anamorphic series in May 2026. Both feature user-interchangeable mounts, letting owner-operators switch to Z-mount for use with compatible Nikon Z series and RED cameras. Mount-change instructions for both lens lines are on the Cooke website.

Customers buying eligible SP3 or AP3 lenses can claim a Z-mount as a free second mount. Existing customers who have already claimed a free mount can buy a Z-mount separately through approved SP3 and AP3 retailers. Full eligibility terms are online.

Z-mounts begin shipping in August 2026.
