Blazar's first anamorphic zoom, the Sentinel 35-60mm 1.33X, opens at T2.2, covers full-frame sensors, and pre-orders at $1,099 from June 23.
Blazar has announced the Sentinel 35-60mm 1.33X T2.2. This is the company’s first anamorphic zoom lens, and looks to be a welcome addition to the lower end of the anamorphic zoom market.
The Sentinel covers a 36 × 24 mm image circle, making it compatible with full-frame sensors across the zoom range. The 1.33X squeeze ratio pairs with 4:3 sensors to produce a 2.39:1 widescreen frame and adds anamorphic character on standard 16:9. The iris uses 16 blades, and Blazar says amber flares and oval bokeh are present throughout the zoom range.
Aperture opens at T2.2 at the wide end and closes to T2.8 at 60mm. Blazar notes that the T-stop markings are calibrated at 35mm, while for other focal lengths they serve as reference only.

The lens measures 153.1 mm (6.03 in) in length (E mount), with an 80 mm front diameter and a 77 mm × 0.75 filter thread. It’s lightweight for an anamorphic at 970 g (2.14 lb), which should help make it a viable option for gimbals, handheld work, and other portable use cases. Close focus is 0.83 m (2.72 ft), with 200° of focus rotation, while mount options are multiple and include E, RF, L, and Z.
