Atomos has announced the Shogun AV-19, a new 19-inch rack-mountable 4K HDR monitor-recorder-switcher aimed at professional live production.
Unveiled on the show floor at this week's ISE in Barcelona, the Shogun AV-19 is heading in a very different direction from the recent creator-friendly widening of the Atomos catalog. The AV-19 takes a 7RU rack-ready chassis designed for live production, broadcast, and video village use and crams multi-camera switching, ISO recording, and advanced monitoring tools into the space.

Multi-Camera ISO Recording Plus
A key part of the AV-19’s pitch is its ability to record up to four isolated SDI camera feeds simultaneously, alongside a fifth program output. Atomos positions this as a complete “monitor-record-switch” solution for productions managing complex multi-camera setups in live event racks or flight-cased OB environments. It can work as a backup recorder for redundancy, a confidence monitor, and an instant review station for directors and clients.

The integrated display is a 19-inch 4K HDR, DCI-P3 panel intended to provide accurate real-time monitoring. Built-in Atomos monitoring tools include EL Zone false color, focus peaking, waveform, Log-to-LUT viewing, frame guides, safe areas, anamorphic de-squeeze, HDR-to-Rec.709 conversion, and quad-view monitoring. It also provides provides anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring to correct the ratio for anamorphic lens setups.
It supports recording in Apple ProRes, ProRes RAW, and Avid DNx codecs from SDI or HDMI sources up to 10-bit 4:2:2 quality with resolutions up to 8Kp60. Recording media options include internal CFexpress cards or external high-speed USB-C storage, offering flexibility for high-data-rate workflows and fast turnaround after live events.
Usefully, Custom LUTs (.cube files) can be loaded from the CFexpress card or SSD and used in conjunction with the Shogun’s built-in monitoring tools for precise exposure control.
Connectivity
As you would expect, there is plenty of I/O. Connectivity includes NDI HX3 send and receive over standard Ethernet, enabling video, audio, and metadata transport across IP-based workflows. Audio support is handled via two full-size XLR inputs with 48V phantom power, alongside dedicated meters, gain control, and frame-accurate audio delay.
Control is available for most Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Panasonic, and Sony mirrorless cameras over USB-C, and all Z CAM E2 series models.
Pricing and Availability
The Atomos Shogun AV-19 is available to preorder now, with shipping expected at the end of March 2026 for $2099.
