7Artisans Dream Series: three full-frame T1.5 cine lenses from $279

7Artisans has launched the Dream Series, three full-frame manual cine primes — 35mm, 50mm and 75mm — all at T1.5 and starting from $279.

7Artisans has launched three new full-frame manual-focus cine lenses under its "Dream" series banner: a 35mm, 50mm, and 75mm, all at T1.5. Available in Sony E, Canon RF, Leica L, and Nikon Z mounts, the lenses cover a 43.5 mm image circle and are targeted fairly squarely at narrative filmmaking on a budget.

Differing constructions

All three share an aperture range of T1.5–T16, an 82mm filter thread, a 300° focus throw, and M0.8 gear pitch. Optical constructions differ by focal length: the 35mm uses 10 elements in 9 groups with 11 aperture blades; the 50mm uses 9 elements in 7 groups with 10 blades; and the 75mm uses 6 elements in 6 groups with 13 blades. Angles of view are 63.7°, 46.9°, and 31° respectively.

The 50mm also features integrated accessory-mounting threads, allowing direct attachment of follow-focus brackets or support hardware without additional adapters.

Minimum focus distance is 0.7 m (2.3 ft) for the 35mm, 0.6 m (2 ft) for the 50mm, and 0.85 m (2.8 ft) for the 75mm. Approximate weights (Sony E mount) are 721 g, 806 g, and 717 g. All three share an 88 mm body diameter; lengths are 92 mm for the 35mm and 75mm, and 103 mm for the 50mm.
