Clippn launches new Video Workflow Management Service

Clippn has announced the launch of a new Video Workflow Management Service for news, media and archival organisations. This service utilises Human and Artificial Intelligence (AI) video management workflows that can be used in virtual post-production and distribution, cataloging and tagging for archives, as well as consulting services for organisations who require a ‘built from the ground up’ workflow solution.

Clippn works as a cloud-based media workflow service that streamlines video operations for news, increasing usage across the organization, and generating ROI for their content. This ideally creates a feedback loop between the videographers and the assignment desk that should improve the quality of submissions, as well as simplifying the media aggregation process turning raw video into ready-for-sale clips.

The Clippn custom Video Workflow Management Service is available for immediate configuration. Learn more here.

The widest rectilinear lens with zero distortion - Laowa 6mm f/2 Zero-D MFT

Venus Optics launched its new 6mm f/2 Zero-D MFT with the same image quality as the cine version but with more to offer. The tiny 188g lens can capture a 121.9° angle-of-view with close-to-zero distortion. With an f/2 large aperture and a 9cm closest focusing distance, the lens can capture more details in a scene and exaggerated perspective in tight space. The short focusing distance allows photographers to get very close to the subject. This is useful for shallower depth-of-field when shooting close-ups, which helps to create a stronger bokeh effect. This works well when shooting landscape, astrophotography, architectural or drone shots.

The optical design contains 13 elements in 9 groups with 2 aspherical glasses,
controlling distortion to the minimum even with such an ultra-wide angle. The large aperture of f/2 increases the flexibility of the lens to shoot under dim light conditions. It
is also easier for the lens to separate the subject from the background.

Laowa 6mm f/2 Zero-D MFT is currently available to purchase via Venus Optics here.
