Hohem Unveils iSteady MT3 Series AI Gimbals and SSD-01 Portable Drive

Hohem has announced the new iSteady MT3 and MT3 Pro AI stabilizers alongside its first portable SSD, the SSD-01, designed for ProRes RAW video capture.

Hohem has introduced two new compact AI-equipped stabilizers, the iSteady MT3 and MT3 Pro, alongside its first portable SSD, the SSD-01, at CES 2026. The new hardware is designed to make stabilized, professional-looking video recording easier for a whole range of users, from vloggers and creators up to professional filmmakers using anything from smartphones to mirrorless cameras.

The MT3 Series continues Hohem’s focus on lightweight stabilization systems, adding upgraded AI subject-tracking, improved ergonomics, and refinements to its already well-regarded iSteady stabilization algorithm. Both iSteady MT3 models feature a built-in 2-megapixel AI camera and Hohem’s latest iSteady 10.0 to deliver smoother movement control and reduce issues that can bedevil stabilization such as lag and drift.

The MT3 Pro (above) sits at the top of the range, with support for heavier rigs and more accessories, while the MT3 targets creators looking for a smaller all-purpose stabilizer. 

The MT3 Pro supports payloads up to 2.5 kg (5.5 lb) and features 40% stronger motor torque than earlier Hohem models. It includes a detachable wireless remote control with a 1.4-inch color display that can monitor a live feed and operate from up to 10 meters (33 ft) away. AI subject-tracking recognizes people, pets, vehicles and more, with face-tracking effective up to 8 meters (26 ft). Gesture, touch, and trigger controls allow on-device setup without relying on an app.

Multiple mounting points support accessories such as the optional Spot Mini follow-focus motor. A Pro Kit bundle adds the motor and an upgraded sling handgrip for improved stability.

The standard MT3 (above) is smaller and lighter, weighing just under 0.77 kg (1.7 lb) while supporting payloads up to 1.36 kg (3 lb). It includes AI human-tracking up to 5 metres (16.4 ft), quick-switch vertical shooting, and simple operation via a 0.4-inch OLED display. Battery life is rated up to 13 hours. It supports smartphones, mirrorless cameras, compact vlogging cameras, and action cameras without requiring separate adapters.

Hohem SSD-01 Portable SSD

The SSD-01, meanwhile, marks Hohem’s entry into storage hardware. The compact drive weighs 28.35 g (1 oz) and measures a mere 61 x 31 x 15.2 mm (2.4 × 1.22 × 0.6 inches). It will be available in 1 TB ($219) and 2 TB ($339) capacities, offering read speeds up to 2000 MB/s and write speeds up to 1800 MB/s via dual USB 3.2 Gen ports.

The SSD-01 also usefully functions as a three-port USB-C hub that enables users to take advantage of storage expansion, microphone receivers, and up to 65W charging. It is designed for direct mounting to cameras and stabilizers without interfering with lens operation.

The drive supports Apple ProRes RAW and Open Gate video recording on the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, including 4K 120 fps capture. Other features include automatic file-save protection, water resistance, drop protection up to 6.5 ft, and an aluminum enclosure with ABS reinforcement.

Pricing and Availability 

The iSteady MT3 Series is expected to ship in late February via Amazon, B&H Photo, and Hohem’s website, with Best Buy availability in the US to follow in early March. Pricing will be as follows:
