The P600R Hard P4 and P1200R Hard P8 balance 600W and 1200W of legitimate punch with 4- and 8-zone pixel control, as well as instant hard-to-soft diffusion that doesn't kill your color consistency.
Another day, another new light from Godox. While yesterday's new Litemons ring lights were firmly aimed at the creator end of the market, the new P600R Hard P4 and P1200R Hard P8 are targeted at the other end of the spectrum: pros looking for both power and pixel control in the same fixture.
Power & Effects
You can have a look at the full Technical Specs of the two lights below, but certainly on paper these look to have got that tricky balance between power and control right.
Both fixtures draw significant power (600 W for the P600R Hard P4; 1200 W for the P1200R Hard P8) and deliver an impressively high output of up to 161,000 lux at 1 m when set to 5600 K with a 55° beam angle.
The P600R Hard P4 features 4 independently controllable pixel zones, and the larger P1200R Hard P8 offers, unsurprisingly, 8 zones. These enable advanced pixel mapping, dynamic effects and precise light shaping directly from the fixture. Both units include 17 built-in FX modes.

Both models support a wide correlated color temperature (CCT) range from 1800 K to 10,000 K with adjustable green–magenta shift. Color rendering metrics include CRI around ~96–97, and TLCI ~98.
Adjustable Diffusion System
An integrated adjustable diffusion system allows rapid switching from hard, directional light to softer, cinematic output. The system also automatically compensates colour temperature when diffusion changes. ADS control can be done locally, via DMX/CRMX or through the Knowled app. This is all very interesting, so it's a shame that ADS is not currently available for sale in the United States. Why is a matter of some speculation, most likely a patent infringement somewhere along the line
Build & Control
Both lights are IP65-rated for weather resistance and include efficient fan cooling for consistent performance in challenging environments. Control options are as comprehensive as you would expect, supporting DMX/RDM, CRMX wireless, Ethernet, Bluetooth and light-body control, with a USB-A port for firmware updates.

Pricing and Availability
Both the P600R Hard P4 and P1200R Hard P8 are available for order now, though it looks like it might take some time for them to make their way to every channel. The P600R Hard P4 costs $2299 and the P1200R Hard P8 $3890. Travel kit versions for both are available that add $100 for a storage case.
