DZOFILM expands Arles line with 25-75mm and 65-180mm T2.6 zooms

DZOFILM has added two full-frame cinema zooms to its Arles line, covering 25mm to 180mm at a constant T2.6 aperture. Preorders are open now, shipping from late September.

DZOFILM has added two full-frame cinema zooms to its Arles lens line: the 25–75mm T2.6 and 65–180mm T2.6, extending the range to 11 primes and two zooms. Together the pair gives continuous coverage from 25mm to 180mm at a constant T2.6 aperture throughout, stopping down to T22.

The 25–75mm covers a 3x range from wide through short telephoto; the 65–180mm covers 2.8x from portrait lengths into telephoto. The two ranges overlap between 65mm and 75mm rather than meeting at a single point, letting operators switch from one zoom to the other mid-shot, match framing across two cameras running different lenses, or change angles without a visible jump in composition. The overlap also puts commonly used portrait and medium-telephoto lengths on either lens.

Both lenses are internally zooming, keeping barrel length and center of gravity fixed as focal length changes, for more consistent balance on handheld and gimbal rigs. Both are parfocal in their PL and EF configurations and are designed to minimize focus breathing. Focus rotation is 270 degrees, zoom rotation 100 degrees. The 25–75mm weighs 1767 g (3.9 lb) and measures 178.1mm from lens front to flange in its standard PL configuration; the 65–180mm weighs 1782 g (3.9 lb) and measures 190.85mm. Both use aluminum-alloy bodies and cover a 43.5mm image circle for full-frame sensors.

The zooms share the coating formulation used on the Arles primes, intended to keep color, warmth and tonal rendering consistent across the set. A 16-blade iris is used for circular out-of-focus highlights. The 25–75mm has 22 elements in eight groups, including seven ED and five HRI elements; the 65–180mm has 20 elements in eight groups, including seven ED and two HRI elements. DZOFILM says, based on its own internal testing, that the lenses provide 8K resolving support. Close focus from the sensor plane is 0.51 m (1 ft 8 in) for the 25–75mm and 0.89 m (2 ft 11 in) for the 65–180mm.

Both zooms share a 95mm front diameter, M86 filter thread and 0.8 MOD gearing, with focus, iris and zoom gear positions matched to each other and to the Arles primes, reducing motor repositioning when switching lenses.

Pricing and availability

The Arles 25–75mm T2.6 and 65–180mm T2.6 are priced individually at $2899; a two-lens kit with hard case is $5199, and includes Y-style lens supports, zoom levers, extension rods, shim kits, caps, a T6 screwdriver and a DZOFILM warranty card. The EF mount kit is sold separately for $99. Shipping begins late September 2026.
