DJI has officially announced the DJI Osmo Pocket 4, the latest iteration of its pocket gimbal camera, and one of the most eagerly anticipated new cameras of recent times.

We suspect that no one, not even DJI, expected the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 to be such a hit. But a significant hit it has been around the world, with the result that the new DJI Osmo Pocket 4 arrives on a wave of anticipation that threatens to overwhelm almost everything else around it, even in the week before NAB.

You can read our in-depth review here, but before we dive into the confirmed specs below, a quick word on the competitive landscape. The Pocket 4 was originally slated for release in December 2025, before slipping first to January 2026 and now being set to appear in stores on April 22. That means it may have less of a clear run in the market than DJI might like; Insta360 has already been dropping teasers for its forthcoming Luna Ultra dual-lens pocket gimbal camera, promising that NAB attendees will find out more about the new camera in Vegas.

DJI Osmo Pocket 4: headline specs

Osmo Pocket 4_Hiking_ActiveTrackLeaks have been plentiful and much of this was rumored beforehand. But a press release has now been issued and the following can now be taken as gospel.

The headline upgrade is 4K240 slow-motion recording. The camera shoots standard video at up to 4K60 and stills at up to 37 MP. Dynamic range is rated at 14 stops, with 10-bit D-Log color support and a max video bitrate of 180 Mbps. The 20 mm equivalent lens has an f/2.0 aperture and a minimum focus distance of 0.2 m (0.7 ft). A 2x lossless zoom is available in 4K, extending to 4x at 1080p.

Three-axis mechanical stabilization is carried over from the Pocket 3, now joined by ActiveTrack 7.0, which supports subject tracking at up to 4x zoom across people, vehicles, pets, and objects. Two new focusing modes, Subject Lock Tracking and Registered Subject Priority, let users lock onto and prioritize specific faces. Gesture control allows hands-free toggling of ActiveTrack and photo/video capture.

The 2-inch OLED touchscreen (a useful 1000 nits, 100% P3) rotates to trigger startup and allow users to switch between landscape and portrait orientation. Two physical buttons sit below the display: a dedicated zoom control and a customizable preset button. A 5D joystick handles gimbal recentering and camera orientation switching.

Storage and more

Osmo pocket4-Mini TripodBuilt-in storage is confirmed at 107 GB, with USB 3.1 support for wired transfers at up to 800 MBps. Wi-Fi 6 enables wireless transfer at up to 90 MBps to the DJI Mimo app. DisplayPort output supports 4K live streaming at up to 60 fps.

Audio is handled by a three-microphone array. Direct connection is supported, as you would expect, for DJI Mic 2, Mic 3, and Mic Mini transmitters for 4-channel recording. The camera also captures spatial audio and features audio zoom, where the recorded audio field narrows or widens with the video zoom level.

The 1545 mAh battery charges to 80% in 18 minutes with a 65 W PD charger (sold separately). It also supports up to 240 minutes of recording at 1080p24, or 135 minutes at 4K60. Slow shutter video in manual mode supports speeds down to 1/4 s.

Additional features include built-in film tones, in-camera beauty filters, timelapse, hyperlapse, motionlapse, panorama (180° and 3x3), SpinShot, a timecode function, and webcam mode. An optional Fill Light accessory attaches magnetically and offers three brightness and color temperature settings.

Pricing and availability

The Osmo Pocket 4 is available for pre-order now at store.dji.com and authorized retailers, with shipping beginning April 22. EU and UK pricing is as follows.

  • Essential Combo (camera, USB-C cable, handle with 1/4" thread, carrying pouch): £429 / from €479
  • Standard Combo (adds gimbal clamp, wrist strap): £445 / from €499
  • Creator Combo (adds wide-angle lens, DJI Mic 3 transmitter, fill light, mini tripod, carrying bag): £549 / from €619

As usual, DJI Care Refresh coverage is available separately.

There is no official US pricing, though as a rough guide you can usually expect to see a €1 to $1 conversion. We suspect the Pocket 4 received FCC certification before DJI was added to the US Covered List in December 2025, so third-party US availability should theoretically be possible.
