Amazing Displays: Large OLED Screens are coming

Written by David Shapton

Big OLED TVs are coming. It's been a long wait (and it'll probably be even longer until we can afford one!) but you'll be seeing these gorgeous displays in the shops soon.

Most video content will simply look better on this new type of screen. But we wonder whether they will also expose more stuff that we don't want to see like codec noise and artifacts in the deep blacks that OLEDs reveal so well.

We'll be trying these out, end to end in a production workflow, as soon as we can get our hands on them. And we'll be asking our colour experts to put them through their paces.

LG claims that the set pictured above is the worlds thinnest and biggest OLED Display.

If they'd like to send us one of these 55" beauties to test, we've got a space in the corner where it will fit nicely.
