SmallHD has opened pre-orders for the OLED 16, a 16" 4K OLED production monitor built for DIT and DP workflows, with infinite contrast, four machined dials, and full 12G-SDI I/O. Price: $5,999.
SmallHD has announced the OLED 16, a 16" 4K OLED production monitor aimed at DIT and DP workflows.
The 400-nit display offers 3840 x 2160 (UHD) resolution, true 10-bit color, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and coverage of 100% DCI-P3 and 80% Rec.2020. SmallHD says the OLED panel delivers true blacks and zero haloing, which it reckons gives advantages over LCD-based alternatives for critical exposure work and shadow detail.
Side-by-side viewing
The unibody chassis is machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, weighs 4.72 kg (10.4 lbs), and is sized for side-by-side viewing on DIT carts, DP stands, or Video Village (though at 400 nits, it's better suited to controlled or shaded environments than direct sunlight). A Smart Rail Connector and 100 mm VESA-compatible mount provide multiple accessory configurations.
I/O comprises 4x 12G-SDI in/out, 1x HDMI 2.0 in/out, 1x 4-pin XLR power input, 1x USB 2.0 (5V / 2.4A), 1x USB (5V / 1.5A), 1x USB-C (5V / 1.5A), an RP-SMA WiFi antenna connector, 1x RJ45 Ethernet (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX), and 2x 2-pin locking outputs for powering external devices such as Teradek wireless systems.
Four machined multi-function dials on the lower front panel, together with a joystick/wheel and function/menu buttons, provide customizable control over the PageOS toolkit. Available tools include Waveform, Vectorscope, EL Zone, Multiview, False Color, and LUT workflows.
Pricing and availability
The OLED 16 is currently available for pre-order priced at $5,999.
