Nanlux's Evoke 5C puts the brand's Nebula C8 eight-color engine into a 160 g (5.64 oz) battery-powered spotlight with full DMX and CRMX control.
Nanlux has announced the Evoke 5C, a 6 W full-color LED spotlight that packs the company's Nebula C8 eight-color light engine into a compact body.
How compact? The light measures 5.6 × 4.4 × 4.5 cm (2.2 × 1.73 × 1.77 in) and weighs 160 g (5.64 oz).
It's based around the Nebula C8 engine that combines deep red, red, amber, lime, green, cyan, blue, and indigo LEDs to cover a 1000K–20,000K CCT range with ±200 green/magenta adjustment, and delivers CRI/TLCI scores of 98/98 and TM-30 Rf/Rg of 96/100. Seven lighting modes are available: CCT, HSI, HSIW, RGBW, XY coordinates, gel, and effect.
Bare output is rated at 2026 lux at 0.5 m at 5600K. Adding the optional Fresnel Lens approximately doubles that figure, while the Spot Beam Lens multiplies it by 5.5.
A full accessory range runs to 14 dedicated items, attached via magnetic and snap-fit connections on the front and a magnetic latch system with electronic contacts on the rear. Modifiers include a Soft Dome, Fresnel Lens, Spot Beam Lens, Snoot, and Projection Attachment.
Power and accessories
The built-in lithium battery gives around 2.5 hours of runtime under optimal conditions; add the optional Battery Grip and that extends to 4.7 hours. The fixture also accepts USB-C power and is compatible with an E27 socket adapter. An IP67-rated metal body handles dust and water immersion to 1 m (3.3 ft) for 30 minutes; an optional IP68 underwater housing extends operational depth to 30 m (98.4 ft).
Mounting options include a 1/4"-20 thread with anti-twist design, a dedicated yoke stand, and a snap-on battery grip for handheld use. Control, meanwhile, is via on-board interface, the Nanlink App over Bluetooth, wired DMX/RDM via USB-C adapter cable, or wireless LumenRadio CRMX. NFC allows batch DMX parameter configuration across multiple powered-off fixtures simultaneously.
Pricing and availability
The Evoke 5C is priced at $219 standalone, $265 as the 1-Light Kit, and $2950 for an 8-Light Kit.
The 8-Light Kit includes eight Evoke 5C fixtures, modifiers, mounting and control accessories, and a GUTEK T-230 charging case that simultaneously charges eight fixtures and four Battery Grips via AC, D-tap, or USB-C PD.
