GoPro AGV helmet teased: what we know so far

GoPro has opened a notify-me page for a full-face motorcycle helmet developed with the Italian brand AGV, almost three years after it bought smart helmet specialist Forcite.

The first new product announced since GoPro agreed its Starman Optical deal is something it has had cooking for a while. Back in January 2024, when it still felt it had cash to spend, GoPro announced it would acquire Sydney-based Forcite Helmet Systems, maker of the MK1S smart helmet.

It’s taken a while for anything to happen with the acquired tech, but the company has now teased its first helmet, a “fully integrated tech-enabled” design developed with Italian helmet maker AGV. A notify-me page is now live with a short teaser video.

The page gives no specifications, pricing, or release date. GoPro says only that the helmet will give riders “all the tech + performance they need – built-in.” The teaser shows a full-face motorcycle helmet with a camera lens mounted centrally below the visor, and that’s about it. There is no indication of any other tech that may feature, though presumably comms is part of the mix.

The sign-up form suggests this is more than smoke and mirrors, though, inviting people to apply for a Test Pilot Program that asks for a social handle and helmet size from XS to XXL.

Only one of those seems to have come to pass, which is probably understandable given the company’s woes. CEO Nicholas Woodman confirmed the AGV partnership on GoPro’s Q1 2025 earnings call, describing a potential $3 billion market for tech-enabled motorcycle helmets.

You just have to hope the lenses are replaceable…
